April 12, 2010

Dear Pastor and Church Members:

We greet you in the majestic name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  We would like to invite your congregation to celebrate with us “Miracle Hill Day” which has been scheduled for Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Old West Florida Enrichment Center, 2344 Lake Bradford Road, Tallahassee, Florida.  This year marks the 42nd year of serving the elderly and convalescent of this community and abroad.  It is with gratefulness that Miracle Hill still stands firm on its mission to carry out the Good Samaritan Principles “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.  We are proud of the fact that Miracle Hill has been a staple in the Tallahassee Community and the State of Florida, serving the needs of its citizens.

As you already know, Florida and our nation are experiencing vulnerable and uncertain times.  The state of our economy is so uncertain, and programs for the most needy are constantly being cut. Currently, the state Senate HHS budget proposal includes a Medicaid rate reduction for nursing homes of 7% or $199.4 million($12.82 per patient day) and the House budget proposal includes a Medicaid rate reduction for nursing homes of approximately 4.6% or 132.8 Million ($8.54 per patient day).  Miracle Hill is not immune to these, state of events. We are a non-profit organization which serves mostly Medicaid clients. Without this type of payor source, Miracle Hill would not even be able to afford the services that we provide.  There is constant threat of cutting rates of reimbursement for Medicaid, which determines how we as a facility will provide services for our residents.

We have determined that we will not allow the great challenges that we face dictate our destiny.  The Miracle Hill Nursing and Convalescent Center is launching a one million dollar campaign effort to provide a reserve for the facility to help in meeting some of the challenges of providing goods and services to its clients in times of emergency and need.  We are asking that you would help us to meet our goal by making a contribution through your funds of benevolence from your church or through individual contributions from individual members. Please make your checks payable to Miracle Hill Nursing Center.  Our mailing address is 1329 Abraham Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32304.  Miracle Hill is a community organization, which belongs to all of us, and it will take a community effort to sustain Miracle Hill as the beacon of hope and service that she has been for many years.  We pray that you will consider supporting us in this endeavor, and we pray that God’s blessings will be upon you.

Respectfully Submitted,

F. R. Rush
